Sourcing Advisory

The world of sourcing is growing and  evolving rapidly, and we’re not just talking about traditional sourcing engagements anymore.   The trend for clients wanting more flexibility and agility for the procurement/contracting process with shorter turnaround times has made adaptive sourcing a much sought after option.  The traditional RFP process is taking a back seat to the Request for Service (RFS) and yielding very positive results.  We consult with clients to determine the best sourcing option for their situation.  We support clients entering the sourcing market for the first time, seasoned clients looking to renegotiate and optimize current contracts as well as those who desire to bring services back in house.

Supplier management

Managing supplier contracts can be extremely complex, whether a single supplier arrangement or multiple suppliers are contracted to deliver services.  We assist clients to set up a management structure and implement critical processes to manage the engagement, harness the expected value of contracts, and mitigate value leakage due to gaps related to supplier integration and contract implementation.  CAP can augment client staff to monitor and assess supplier deliverables and obligations, financial commitments and targets, service level agreements and other client objectives for the arrangement.

Financial Management

A service offered as a component of sourcing advisory services or stand – alone.  Clients need to understand the financials of their organization – whether it is sourced or insourced - from a holistic perspective.  Many clients do not have dedicated financial support within their operations to manage financial functions and analytics on a consistent or sustained basis.  CAP will customize financial templates to build a base case and business case for a specific one-time initiative or recurring projects.  We can also augment client staff and support recurring activities such as budgets, forecasts, andmonthly financials reporting to assess actual expenditures to planned spend.  Bottom line - CAP puts a lens on the financials to ensure clients have information needed to make critical and timely decisions.

Contract Assessments

Contracts provide a legal framework for an arrangement and are typically designed to evolve with economic, business and operational changes.  We provide a service to review and assess contracts compared to current market parameters and practices as well as against internal objectives to determine if a contract is delivering the value expected.    One goal of the assessment is to identify areas of value leakage and the recommended corrective actions needed.  The results of the contract assessment have provided the client with valuable information to support future decisions and avoid tens of thousands of unnecessary costs.
